Listen to worriedaboutsatan kick out the jams

Worriedaboutsatan

July 28, 2010

Some people would have you believe that Burial makes music akin to the sound of South London at night. They are wrong, of course; South London at night sounds like a mixture of sirens, retching and the mating calls of pre-pubescent would-be gangsters.

Worriedaboutsatan, though, make music that I can well imagine is reminiscent of the sound of the witching hour in their native Leeds. At once soothing and disturbing, theirs is an enveloping, fully-formed sound the likes of which ‘new’ bands produce very infrequently.

They have just released three new tracks – “just us, jamming around”, they say. Five internet points for spotting the Blackstreet samples.
